“Hi there, I’m just writing to express my undying love for your products….truly. I think the Ava baby balm is amazing!! I have been struggling with skin issues on my c-section scar for years. Two different doctors had me on prescription creams & medicated powders. Nothing worked. So, one day I decided to try putting the baby balm on it. What do u know!? No itching! And the infected skin cleared up unbelievably well….even my husband is amazed! Its not 100% yet, but it looks nearly healed. Thank you so much for this miracle product!!”
Conventional Body Care
Conventional body care is body care that contains chemicals and synthetic preservatives. Don’t be fooled by all-natural claims either.
All-natural products can contain pesticides, herbicides, commercial fertilizers and genetically modified plants.
IF YOU CAN’T EAT IT. DON’T PUT IT ON YOUR SKIN.
(read ingredient labels)
I read medical research papers, studies, articles, books and spend hours on my computer researching chemical ingredients used in common body care products we use every day. These chemicals and synthetic preservatives are showing up in breast tumors in women, even babies at the time of birth. Studies have detected parabens in parts of the body, and that the chemicals can pass through the skin when used in cosmetics like shampoos or skin creams. A Danish study found that when a cream containing paraben was spread on the backs of healthy men, the substance showed up in their blood samples in mere hours.
Chemicals are a huge part of our lives and have made a lot of the products we use every day more attainable, last longer, look prettier, and definitely cheaper. At what cost to us though?
I specifically researched parabens and SLS* (sodium lauryl sulfate) before I wrote the ads I posted below. I found 82,600 results after Googling “paraben, sls bad”. Pretty frightening. Then I considered the chemicals that we don’t know that much about yet. Take a minute and read through the ads and consider daily use of these chemicals over a lifetime. What are they are doing to your blood system, muscle tissue, your nervous system or your brain? Are they accumulating in our bodies? Chemicals may make our lives more convenient and commercial fertilizers have definitely made it possible to feed more people throughout the world but they are not intended to makes us stronger or healthier. They are intended to make consumer products more profitable, reach more people and last longer on the shelf.
SLS or Parabens have nothing to do with health and beauty.
You eat vegetables because they are good for you. Vegetables are good for your skin and hair as well. Your skin is your largest organ why not feed your skin with organic plants and vitamins instead of chemicals? Mirror Lake Organics products are made with certified plant oils like avocado and sunflower. We believe if you can’t eat it don’t put it on your skin.
Organic Body Care is the absence of chemicals, synthetic preservatives and GMOs.
Organic products are inspected and certified by trained independent agencies.
If you were to buy a certified organic tomato you are assured the original tomato seed planted was certified organic, the potting soil the seed grew in is certified, the fertilizer used was certified organic and the farm where it was grown was inspected and certified. This is the same principal we live by at Mirror Lake Organics. We purchase only certified organic ingredients from certified growers. This insures the absence of pesticides, herbicides, commercial fertilizers, contaminated soils, and genetically modified organisms. Our products are 100% Mother Nature. Don’t be fooled by all-natural claims either. Just because it says it’s natural doesn’t mean it hasn’t been contaminated with pesticides or other chemicals. Natural products are not inspected or certified to be free of chemicals. For example, anyone can grow avocados, spray their trees with pesticides, fertilize with synthetic fertilizers and kill weeds beneath their trees with Round Up and call their avocados all natural. It’s a convenient loop-hole. Mirror Lake Organics only buys certified organic plant oils from trusted suppliers. We do not use any naturally grown or wild harvested products either. Organic farms are required to create buffer zones to insure neighboring farms that are not organic cannot contaminate organic crops. Naturally grown or wild harvested crops are at risk of contamination. It’s funny, when our customers ask if our products are all natural we say “no, they are better, they are organic”.
Organic is not all-natural. It’s better.
