Automation Alley, Michigan’s largest technology business association, is partnering with Tata Technologies to offer a broad scope of affordable product lifecycle management classes that cover both fundamental and advanced topics. Classes include training in AutoCAD, CATIA V5, Autodesk Inventor and NX and will be offered at both the Automation Alley Product Lifecycle Management Center at SmartZone Business Accelerator OU INC in Rochester and Tata Technologies in Novi.
The Automation Alley Product Lifecycle Management Center opened in February to address the need in Southeast Michigan for affordable training of local business leaders, employees, students and individuals in product lifecycle management (PLM) technologies. PLM refers to the process of managing the lifecycle of a product from its conception and design, through manufacture, to service and disposal.
“We are excited to provide these comprehensive PLM classes in partnership with Tata Technologies,” said Alex Violassi, director of the Automation Alley Product Lifecycle Management Center. “Our goal is to get the local tech and manufacturing workforce trained on the latest PLM technologies and software and to help businesses understand the many benefits of PLM.”
PLM technologies can improve and optimize a company’s productivity and methodologies by making complex processes more cohesive, streamlined and simplified, Violassi said. In doing so, a higher quality product can be brought to market faster and at a lower price point, which creates less waste and generates higher profits.
“This partnership is a natural fit for two organizations that are committed to advancing the manufacturing industry through the application of technology,” said John Haupt, associate vice president of PLM solution services at Tata Technologies. “As a leading provider of PLM software, solutions, support and training, we’re excited to broaden our reach in Southeast Michigan together in collaboration with Automation Alley.”
