GreeningDetroit.com was chosen by Anna Dravland of Olympia Entertainment to aid in her inspirational idea, “I Dream of a Green Detroit”. This fundraising event features Cirque du Soleil’s “Dreamz Holidaze” production and raises funds for a non-profit that provides support for the city.
Though Greeningdetroit.com represents over 100 non-profit organizations, the decision of funding Arise! Detroit was a simple one. John Carlos, Executive Director of GreeningDetroit.com, states, “Luther Kieth is a man of great integrity and huge passion for Detroit and it’s citizens. His work promotes community responsibility in practical, strategic, and empowering ways. It is our hope that this event brings not just much needed funding, but well deserved awareness and excitement for his organization.”
As the excitement developed, the United States Green Building Council, was coupled with the event and features a pre-glow fundraiser party, a ticket to the show, and desert bar. Tickets are $60 with $10 per ticket going to each of the organizations.
The Detroit Regional Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council is committed to transforming the way buildings and communities are designed, built and operated in the greater Detroit region. They decided to have their annual fundraising event to raise awareness for both organizations due the wondrous opportunities within the city right now. “The time has never been better for ecological sustainability to be created within the infrastructure of Metro-Detroit”, states Cathleen Francois, Assistant Executive Director of GreeningDetroit.com. “We are elated that they joined us to create such a great evening for the community to come together and support the growth and development of our city and southeast region.”
Attendees to both events are encouraged to wear green attire and will be enchanted by the beautiful greenery and trees donated for the evening by Telly’s Greenhouse.
Cirque du Soleil is a Canadian entertainment company based in Montreal, its various performances are held all over the world. Their gorgeous costumes, unique music, and amazing acrobatic acts have thrilled audiences all over the world.
