Churches, block clubs, community groups and businesses are now registering for the 11TH annual ARISE Detroit! Neighborhoods Day, which will be held Saturday, Aug. 5 in neighborhoods throughout Detroit.
The day is a spectacular demonstration of community pride with more than 100 community service and improvement projects and celebratory events in neighborhoods throughout the city. More
11TH ANNUAL ARISE DETROIT! NEIGHBORHOODS DAY IS SATURDAY AUG. 5, 2017
Churches, block clubs, community groups and businesses are now registering for the 11TH annual ARISE Detroit! Neighborhoods Day, which will be held Saturday, Aug. 5 in neighborhoods throughout Detroit.
The day is a spectacular demonstration of community pride with more than 100 community service and improvement projects and celebratory events in neighborhoods throughout the city.
Last year, events were held in connection with Neighborhoods Day, stretching from the riverfront to Eight Mile Road. Hundreds of organizations and thousands of volunteers participated.
The idea behind the event is to create an opportunity to showcase the pride and spirit of neighborhoods and forge relationships that can help improve the quality of life for city residents going forward.More
ARISE Detroit! will host a first-of-its-kind spotlight on Detroit neighborhoods in a new exhibit called “Neighborhoods Rising” from April 22 through June 18 at the Detroit Historical Museum. Sponsored by The DTE Energy Foundation, the exhibit will focus on the neighborhood people and programs that have partnered with ARISE Detroit! since the community mobilization nonprofit began in 2006.More
August 1, 2015 saw thousands of volunteers come together for ARISE! Detroit’s 9th annual Neighborhoods Day to show their commitment to bettering Detroit’s communities. Hundreds of projects were formed and finished, bringing out thousands of young and old, to work on increasing the connection, unity, and bettering neighborhoods in various ways.More
ARISE DETROIT! is pleased to announce a partnership with SEED Detroit, a new website (www.seeddetroit.org) that will make it easier for Detroit organizations to post projects and recruit volunteers for improving their neighborhoods. The partnership will make it easier for Neighborhoods Day groups to recruit volunteers and update people on the progress of their projects in real time.More

Friday the 13th, a day typically shrouded in superstition and negativity got a make-over at the #313DLove event held on March 13th, 2015, now known as Detroit Day. Held at the Charles H Wright Museum, #313DLove brought together some of the top innovators in the Detroit community to share their stories, how they are apart of Detroit’s uprising, and ultimately their undying love for Detroit.More
