We recently celebrated when 73 of our dogs and cats went home early for the holidays. But almost immediately our doors were deluged. Every time I walk through the shelter I see yet another abandoned litter of kittens or puppies.
One of the latest? A woman was waiting behind a car at a stop sign on Hubbard Street in Dearborn. Oddly, the car door opened and a box was dropped by the side of the road. The car then simply sped off.
The female driver noticed the box moving and then . . . puppies scrambling out of the box. She quickly came to their rescue, bundling the 6 youngsters back into the box as best she could.
The 4 boys and 2 girls were just 6 weeks old. We don’t know why anyone would simply throw away puppies. But we do know that because of YOU they become precious.
Please consider sponsoring one of our many babies until their ultimate wish is granted: a Home 4 the Holidays.
A $100 gift will fully sponsor Duke Silver (pictured above) or Ann Perkins (above right).
But any amount YOU give is priceless because it can transform a life from trash to treasured this holiday season!
It’s up to us to make their wishes come true.
