Suppliers and companies will meet early next week to create future business partnerships and to boost the state’s economy and create jobs through the Michigan Economic Development Corporation’s Pure Michigan Business Connect (PMBC) program.
The PMBC, in partnership with Consumers Energy, Lakeshore Advantage and The Right Place, Inc., will host the West Michigan Procurement Summit powered by Consumers Energy at the DeVos Place Convention Center (303 Monroe Ave NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49503). With nearly 150 sourcing needs from nearly 20 purchasers in various industries, there are plenty of opportunities for qualified Michigan suppliers to take advantage of and grow their business.
“These PMBC Summits bring significant growth opportunities for Michigan companies and more jobs for Michigan residents,” MEDC Chief Executive Officer Steve Arwood said. “We commend all of the participating companies for joining this event and for their commitment to growing Michigan jobs and improving our economy.”
The matchmaking initiative introduces qualified Michigan suppliers to buyers from a variety of industries including Amway, Byrne Electrical, City of Grand Rapids, Consumers Energy, DTE Energy, Fifth Third Bank, Gentex Corporation, Grand Rapids Community College, Herman Miller, INglass USA inc., Metal Flow Corporation, Muskegon County, and Spectrum Health.
“Consumers Energy is committed to serving Michigan by putting our state’s businesses to work,” said Dan Malone, senior vice president of energy resources. “Through Pure Michigan Business Connect, we promised nearly two years ago to spend $5 billion with Michigan businesses over the next five years. We are almost at the halfway mark already and look forward to keeping the momentum going.”
