Michigan students and families attending a Lansing Lugnuts game this summer will have the opportunity learn about the financial resources readily available to help pay for college, according to the Michigan Department of Treasury (Treasury).
The Lugnuts—a minor league baseball team affiliated with the Toronto Blue Jays—and Treasury’s MI Student Aid Outreach Team will be participating in a summer information and education campaign at more than 15 home games, with an exclusive showcase on “Harry Potter Night” on Aug. 19, 2017.
“This partnership provides opportunities for student and families navigating the complicated college financial aid process,” said Anne Wohlfert, director of Treasury’s Student Financial Services Bureau. “Cooley Law School Stadium provides a fantastic family atmosphere that will help us reach those individuals.”
The MI Student Aid Outreach Team will run promotions in between innings that will include video advertisements, digital signage and giveaways to fans. In addition, all tickets to home games ordered online will include information on how to connect with MI Student Aid.
“We are thrilled to announce our partnership with MI Student Aid,” said Nick Grueser, General Manager of the Lansing Lugnuts. “It’s a very cohesive relationship that provides a benefit to our fan base. MI Student Aid works with the same family demographic that the Lansing Lugnuts have been entertaining for 22 years.”
Administered by Treasury, MI Student Aid is Michigan’s go-to resource for finding the financial resources needed to pay for college. For more information, contact MI Student Aid at mistudentaid@michigan.gov, 1-888-4-GRANTS or @mistudentaid on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat.
