The inaugural event features a theme of “Building Unity and Creating Opportunity” that celebrates the innovation and economic contributions of New Americans and honors their commitment to making Michigan a welcoming state for all. The event is hosted by the Michigan Office for New Americans (MONA), the Hispanic Latino Commission, the Commission on Middle Eastern American Affairs and the Michigan Asian Pacific Affairs Commission.
The evening will include an award presentation to six business leader awardees for impacting the state’s growing economy and enriching the lives of Michiganders.
“MONA is honored to host this gala to recognize and acknowledge not only the business leader awardees, but all new Americans who have contributed to the economic and cultural success of Michigan” said MONA Director Bing Goei. “New Americans help make Michigan a wonderful place to live and work and it is important they are recognized for their efforts.”
MONA’s mission is to help grow Michigan’s economy by attracting global talent to the state of Michigan and promoting the skills, energy, and entrepreneurial spirit of Michigan’s immigrant communities.
