Dearborn Animal Shelter Hosts Elegant Black Tie & Tails Fundraiser Dinner
The Friends For the Dearborn Animal Shelter announces that it will be going “paws-itively presidential” at the 12th annual Black Tie & Tails dinner and auction event on Friday, October 26 from 7pm until midnight at the historic Dearborn Inn. A signature fundraiser for the organization, Black Tie is targeted to raise over $100,000 in needed funds to help care for homeless animals that come through the Shelter’s doors. More
The Ferndale Public Library has received a generous donation from the children of Karen Fung Ping Mui. The family requested that the donation be used to purchase English as a Second Language (ESL) materials to honor her memory.

Until Saturday July 14, Staples has these scissors on sale, one pack for $1.00, with a limit of 4. We need scissors and wait all year for this sale. Also in their weekly ad are the beginnings of the back-to-school deals.
While all of us can benefit from knowledge about material use, youth are particularly critical. We have received over-whelming feedback from the teachers and families of students who have shared what they learned. It is the motivation of young people that sparks conversation about waste disposal, pollution and material use in homes across Detroit.
