We are still looking for volunteers for our new committees. If you love Arts & Scraps and want to help us grow in meaningful ways, we would love to work with you! Give your time and talent while joining a community of others who want to do the same. To check our our offerings, go to our Volunteer Match page to learn more.

Oppertunities include Stations Committee (coming up with new interactive stations for our classroom and events), Friends of Arts & Scraps (General help when we need it, project-based group work) and the Marketing and PR Committee (which will help insure that the word gets out about all we do!). ANNOUNCING: Arts & Scrap’s New Exec. Director, James Henderson

James Henderson is a graduate of Michigan State University’s College of Education. He has been a teacher and served as a principal and superintendent at a public school academy in Lansing, Michigan. He worked for the state nonprofit association for public school academies as a quality schools facilitator working with school leaders and teachers.

James later went on to serve as the vice president of a nonprofit center in Detroit dedicated to supporting and developing quality public school academies in the city and quality outcomes for all students. James believes strongly in the mission of Arts & Scraps, and reimaging recycled materials to inspire people of all ages to think, create and learn.More

Good News from Arts & Scraps

September 22  Sidewalk Sale–but it’s inside, filling the classroom  
10:00 – 4:00  bargain time 3:30. We received a big donation of new items and window props from an office supply store.  Add to that children’s toys, games, many holiday items, craft items and more.  No books or clothing.  We would love your donations toward the sale; please deliver in September.  We will write tax donation slips; please deliver during store hours. More
