Zaman International Hosts Tea-Themed Brunch To Celebrate, Raise Money for Women
Zaman International, an Inkster-based humanitarian organization that provides urgent needs and job skills training for impoverished women with children, will host a Mother’s Day “ChariTea Brunch” on Saturday, May 6 at Crystal Gardens in Southgate to raise money for its programs. The annual women-only event, which goes from 11 a.m to 2 p.m., will feature catering by Habib’s Cuisine in Dearborn, raffles for more than 90 gift baskets, and a “marketplace” to shop for locally made products.
The brunch will be sponsored by Retea, a Detroit-based company owned by Ali Bazzi and Saad Saad, who will treat guests to a tea bar with gourmet drinks and a packet of tea to take home. Guests can also shop for Retea products at the marketplace, as well as homemade chocolate from Narang Desserts and baked goods from Planet Bakery and Crème au Beurre Pâtisserie. The marketplace will also feature items sewn by Zaman’s sewing students and handcrafted bath products from Soap4Hope, a company founded by Zaman volunteers.More
