Ms. Jennifer Alvarado, executive director of the Great Lakes Renewable Energy Association, announced today that Governor Jennifer Granhlom will open the 5th Annual Michigan Energy Fair with a key-note address.
Michigan Governor Granholm, who has a long history as an advocate for renewable energy and plays a vital role in turning Michigan toward a sustainable energy future The transition to renewable energy is one of the most urgent issues facing Michigan citizens today, especially since Michigan imports 100% of its’ coal to provide electricity, costing the state over 1 billion dollars a year.

The 5th Annual Michigan Energy Fair is a ‘three day’ (June 25 -27), family friendly, exhibition where you can learn how to save energy and money and about new opportunities in wind, solar, and geo-thermal technologies.
Last year, 6,000 attended the Michigan Energy Fair. Don’t miss attending the Fair this year in its’ new Novi location. The fair is dedicated to inspire, educate, and motivate energy saving and renewable energy use actions. With over 100 exhibitors and 60 speakers and workshops, everyone will take home valuable information they can use right away. All events and speakers are open to the public. There is a $10. admission fee, with student and family discounts. Kids under 12 free.
The Michigan Energy Fair is sponsored by The Great Lakes Renewable Energy Association, a non-profit organization that educates, advocates, promotes, and publicly demonstrates renewable energy technologies. The Mission of GLREA is to increase the mainstream use of renewable energy technologies and sustainable energy practices.
