I am not your average chiropractor, no X-rays, no prescriptions, only my hands. I unwind people and allow them to tap into the potential that exists when their body is aligned and feeling good. Using a combination of chiropractic, along with cranial sacral work, shiatsu, applied kinesiology, and nutritional counseling, I locate the spots where energy is stuck, and I help the body release it.

I seek to advise patients not only on the well-being of their spine, but the total health of their body & mind. Through holistic alternatives, nutritional counseling, and positive mental outlook this can be achieved.

About Chiropractic
Chiropractic takes a different view of health than traditional medicine. We look at the body vitalistically as a living organism, opposed to mechanically. We believe the body is Innately Intelligent and has miraculous abilities.

The Innate Intelligence is not localized in a specific area of the body, it’s everywhere. It uses different body parts and organs as tools to function, with the brain being the “master controller”.

The brain communicates to the body through the spinal cord and spinal nerves, or nervous system. The nervous system goes through 24 moveable vertebrae called the spine. When vertebrae misalign (subluxate), this causes interference from the brain to the body. The body cannot be healthy with a spinal subluxation.

There are many reasons or causes for spinal subluxations; accidents, stress, occupational hazards, excess weight, etc…

My job as a chiropractor is to restore the body to its natural state of harmony and alignment, to allow it to function to its highest potential. I do not heal the body, the body heals itself.

Fees
Fees vary. There is base fee for an initial consultation and a rate for subsequent visits after the initial consultation. We also offer payment plans, and bundled visits where you can receive a discounted rate for purchasing a set amount of visits at once.

No patient is turned away do to finances so please call or come in to discuss further.

We also accept insurance such as Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medicare, Aetna, Messa, and others, so please call to see if your insurance is accepted.

Goldengate Café
An unexpected vegan delight, just south of 7-mile, the Goldengate Café offers fresh vegan cuisine made with local produce and ingredients, prepared with a home-cooked attitude!

We offer a vegan Sunday Brunch complete with pancakes, crepes, muffins, tofu scramble and all the other brunch fixin’s . Our daily menu features house stir-fry’s with our choice of fresh toppings and sauces, various protein-rich house-made burgers, daily soups, whole wheat wraps, and vegan pizzas.

If you want a snack or something light we have satisfying smoothies, fresh raw juices, and big-bowl salads.

And if you want something different every time, well we have that too! We have a daily special to keep you coming back.

We can also offer catering to events, with adequate notice.

Cass Community Social Services

Organization’s Description

Cass Community Social Services has the mission of reducing poverty and creating opportunities for people living in areas of concentrated poverty by providing food, housing, health and mental health, as well as job training and permanent employment. All of the vocational programs at Cass simultaneously deal with sustainability.

Cass’ Green Industries currently include a mud mat program, shredding and recycling and a One Cup Car Wash. Each provides job training and permanent employment as well as having a positive environmental impact.

1) The mud mat program collects illegally dumped tires off City lots and converts them into door mats – thus cleaning up the neighborhoods, eliminating the trash and rodents tires attract, and recycling rubber that would otherwise take up space in the landfills. To date, 16,000 tires have been repurposed.

2) The document destruction program shreds and recycles papaer, cardboard, x-rays and other materials. The Cass equipment is capable of shredding a ton of paper an hour. The process obviously saves trees, water, gasoline and landfill space/incinerator activity.

3) The One Cup Car Wash uses dramatically less water to clean vehicles and no chemicals are utilized to pollute the ground water.

Beyond the employment opportunities, Cass also operates a Green Gym. The facility puts used equipment back in circulation and it includes ten stationary bikes that generate electricity for the warehouse building (which is home to the Green Industries).

Cheryl Buscemi is the manager of member relations at Automation Alley, where she works to engage members while increasing their return on investment. With extensive experience in video production and live event planning, Buscemi brings valuable insight to the technology-driven membership of Automation Alley.

Prior to joining the staff of Automation Alley, Buscemi founded and managed My Media Resource, a corporate video and live events company based in Troy. The company boasts a strong portfolio of corporate clients, including MGM Grand, Nissan, Honda and DTE, among others.

Buscemi serves on the Board for the Intelligent Transportation Society of Michigan (a state chapter of ITS America), which is responsible for planning the 21st World Congress on Intelligent Transportation Systems event in 2014. The event is scheduled to be held in Detroit, where Buscemi works closely with companies, economic developers and local government officials to grow the technology economy of Southeast Michigan. She has served on the Board for the Oakland County Employment Diversity Council since 2001 and is a graduate of the Leadership Oakland program.

As an adjunct faculty member at Baker College, Buscemi also teaches professional career strategies to students preparing to enter the workforce. Buscemi earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Oakland University and is a descendant of Cherokee Chieftainess Nanye-hi.
